Elizabeth Galen, Ph.D.
As I left high school, I planned to be a teacher, a wife, and a mother. I earned my undergraduate degree in history and English with secondary teaching certification at The University of Texas at Austin. I then went to Boston College and earned an M.A. in theology with a focus on the history of Christianity. After a short time teaching, I returned to UT and academia to get my Ph.D. in American Studies; my dissertation is on Irish Catholic immigrant women in the U.S., 1845-1915. I thought I was going to become an adjunct professor while my children were young. It turns out that life had different plans for me.
In 2003, my health collapsed. Eventually I was given a legal diagnosis for chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) and fibromyalgia (FM). My health continued spiraling downward. I was clearly suffering from multiple chemical sensitivities (MCS) as well. By 2005, I was in bed for 22+ hours a day, hardly able to function. I quickly exhausted my doctors’ bags of tricks even though they work with the CFS/FM/MCS population. For six years, I was almost completely homebound. I spent what little energy I had putting my doctorate degree to a new use reading about experimental treatment protocols. Eventually in 2009, I decided to be tested for Lyme disease using IgeneX testing, and not surprisingly, it was positive because of a tick bite that was misdiagnosed in 1994. I also have bartonella, and I tested positive for ehrlichia. Through many years of hard work involving mind-body-spirit healing, I have reached the final stages of healing illnesses that others never recover from.
From my years of chronic health issues, I have accumulated a myriad of knowledge to help others with their own struggles. I also have personal experience with multiple food sensitivities, “green” living, organic eating, miscarriage and stillbirth, attachment parenting, twin parenting, serving the gifted population, paganism, highly sensitive individuals, those with metaphysical abilities and more. I am able to help others from a purely intellectual standpoint while simultaneously offering the compassion that can only come from someone who has walked the same or a similar path. Because of my experiences with family members and friends, I am open to working with others who find themselves not always welcome in other parts of society. This includes those recovering from alcohol and substance abuse, those in non-traditional family units, those in minority religious groups, agnostics or atheists, and those in the LBGTQQIA community.
In my work, I also use my skills as an intuitive empath. I feel other people’s emotions in my own body, and I am very sensitive to messages from higher powers outside of humanity. With their permission, I can connect to others’ angels, guides or deceased relatives to receive healing messages for them to accelerate and accentuate their personal healing. This is a service I only provide on request, and I respect those whose beliefs do not encompass spiritual healing. I am happy to meet you on whichever religious or spiritual beliefs you hold (or don’t hold).
I am so grateful for this opportunity that I have been blessed with to help others in their quest for physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health.

"Elizabeth has been receiving healing messages for me for several months. I can say with certainty her guidance has always been relevant and accurate. Elizabeth does extensive hours of research after receiving a message to translate the symbols she receives, in order to make the best suggestions possible. My therapist and I have begun to use her messages as a road map on my healing journey with success." -- D.P., artist and housing professional, Austin, Texas
"I've been blessed to call Elizabeth my friend for nearly ten years, and to now call her a guide is mind-blowing. Her life experiences, her knowledge base and her natural mystic gifts afford her an unparalleled fluency in personal connections. She is one of the most spiritually intact people I've ever encountered. Her endeavors emit a gorgeous sureness, a calmness, a solidness. Trust, delicacy and tact are assured. Even from afar, you will feel her hand on your shoulder and her hand in yours when you may be feeling particularly vulnerable. I highly recommend her services for accuracy and thoroughness, but also if for nothing more than to experience a gentle, caring soul, and just a genuinely lovely human being.” --Kierstin Jayne "Jinx" Maurer, Florida, recovering from alcohol abuse and addiction, mother of two clever, precious and beautiful daughters
"What I enjoy most about Elizabeth on both a personal and professional level is her ability to connect with others compassionately. She brings sharp intelligence and deep empathy to all her pursuits. She treats judgment as if it were irrelevant. I feel I could share anything with her, and her main concern would be figuring out how to help me." --Melissa Stephenson, Missoula, Montana, freelance writer/editor, mother
“I have known Elizabeth for over six years and have been continually inspired by her gift of compassion, kindness and understanding. The fact that she couples these qualities with intelligence and a passion for research further cements my admiration of her.” --C.H., Austin, Texas, artist and mother
“Elizabeth is an excellent and compassionate intuitive healer. Her keen intuition is balanced by a well-grounded and intelligent approach to healing. I highly recommend her!” -Toni Snidow, Austin, Texas, comptroller, mother, grandmother, and shamanic practitioner
